Ingredients
  

  • 5 lbs. Beef Shank (or chuck roast)
  • 1 cup mushroom
  • 1 each onion (slice)
  • 3 large Russet Potato
  • 2 large Carrots
  • 48 oz Beef broth or Stock
  • 3 each bay leaf
  • 1 each Star anis
  • 1 bunch Fresh Rosemary
  • 2 tbsp. flour

HOW TO MAKE POT ROAST

INSTRCUTIONS

  1. Start by Seasoning the Beef shank with salt and pepper on both sides, and into a hot pan on high heat, sear the beef shank for 3 minutes on each side to get a good caramelization on the meat.

2. After searing beef shanks remove them from the pot and start cook onion and mushrooms for 2 minutes and throw in you flour and cook for 2 more minutes.

3. Know that your has cooked you will add beef broth or stock to the pot and stir while pouring to avoid any flour clumps in the roast.

4. Place all beef shank back into the pot, followed by the bay leaves and rosemary. Bring to a boil then cover with a lid a cook on low heat for 2:30 hours.

5. Peel and dice potatoes and carrots and add them to roast after 2:30hr and cook the veggies until they get fork tender usually taking 30 minutes.

6. Serve and enjoy this perfect pot roast recipe.
