Easy 15-minute Lo Mein Recipe

Lo Mein– is a quick and easy recipe that comes together in 15 minutes and will satisfy your take-out cravings we all know it’s a staple meal when we order take-out. The perfect balance of egg noodles, fresh veggies, and savory lo mein sauce hits the spot when you make it at home.

Chow mein vs Lo mein
The main difference between the noodles is Chow mein noodles are thinner and crispier while Lo mein noodles are thicken and chewier. Both use any kids of vegies and meats.
Both kind of noodles are egg noodles made with flour,egg, water and kansui wich make noodles yellow and chewy. But the differ in hydration and shape one thinner and smaller than the other.
Easy Lo mein
Equipment
- 1 Pot
- 1 strainer
- 1 knife
- 1 cutting board
- 1 wok or pan
Ingredients
- 8 oz Dry Egg noodle package or Fresh egg noodle
- 2 each Slice carrots
- 1/4 each slice yellow onion
- 3 cups cabbage comes out of 1/4 big cabbage
- 3 each Dice garlic Cloves
- 1 bunch Green onion, only green part
- sauce sauce sauce
- 2 tbsp. Dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar or regular sugar
- 1 tbsp. water
- 1 tsp.. sesame oil
- 1 tbsp. corn starch
- 1/4 tsp. white pepper
- 1 tbsp. oyster sauce
How to make Lo mein
Instructions
- Start by slicing your onion, carrots, cabbage, garlic, and green onion and set aside for later use.





2. Time to make your sauce, place the dark soy sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, corn starch, water, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and white pepper in a bowl and mix until fully combined.





3. Grab an 8 oz. egg noodle packet and cook for 5 minutes in boiling water, once the noodle has been cooked run them under cold water to stop the noodles from overcooking.




4. To a hot pan or wok cook your garlic, carrots, and onion for 2 minutes, then throw in your cabbage and continue cooking for 2 more minutes, after that toss in your noodles, sauce, and green onion and cook for 1 more minute, stir the noodle until they become fully coated in the sauce.






5. Serve on a plate and enjoy.
